Youtube launches Musicians Wanted
This program, “Musicians wanted” see the light in a way to solve the problems with the labels that in the past remove most of the videos that infringe copyrights. “Musicians wanted” will allow bands and musicians to get paid when their videos are played, even when they’re embedded on other sites.
Nowadays is US only but we hope that goes global soon. Besides you have to be accepted in the program not everybody can get in. But at least, it only includes indie music makers because Youtube has already a premium program called Vevo which most of the videos are property of big labels such as EMI, Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music Group among others. Unfortunately is not available in all countries yet.
For those interested in music, last january Youtube also launched a version of Musician Wanted but in this case focus in filmmakers, it’s called Filmmakers Wanted. But if you’re interested in the music program you better pay attention to Pomplamoose the band that will guide you through “Musicians wanted” as well ad the official blog of Youtube.
