Coheed and Cambria Plan Southern Tour with Moving Mountains & Pianos Become Teeth

Progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria has finalized plans for a Southern Spring headlining tour before joining up with Iron Maiden as supporting act during the summer.

Coheed and Cambria will be touring along with Moving Mountains and Pianos Become Teeth starting April 29th at the Jefferson Theatre in Charlottesville, Virginia

During the tour, they’ll make stops at the Beale Street Festival in New Orleans and the Hangout Festival in Alabama. On July 30th, they’ll link up with Iron Maiden, joining them as opening act.

Coheed and Cambria are currently working on their 6th studio album. The yet-to-be-named album still has no official release date, but will be the group’s first since 2010’s Year of the Black Rainbow.

Singer/guitarist Claudio Sanchez said the new album will be following the same Armory Wars concept as the previous. He told New York Comic Con: “We will be staying within the world of the Amory Wars and go further into the past. Fans should be excited who of the characters we have picked to follow in this prequel saga… I will say that it will hint and influence the pre-existing saga, and that it is all related.”

On going lineup changes as Chris Pennie left the band, supposedly due to creative differences, but was quickly replaced by Josh Eppard, another of the band’s former drummers.
