The Killers was formed in 2001. The band originates from Las Vegas, Nevada, and was started by Brandon Flowers, Dave Keuning, Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannucci jr..

The Killers eventually signed a record deal in 2003, with UK Indie label Lizard King Records. The band started to go on a UK bar and club tour, where they gained popularity. In 2003, The Killers returned to the USA, where they were invited to play at the ASCAP CMJ Music Marathon festival. Shortly after performing at the concert, the ban signed with Island Def Jam.

The band released their debut album in 2004. The title of their debut album was Hot Fuss. They released Sam's Town in 2006, followed by the release of Sawdust in 2007, followed by the releases of Day and Age and Hiatus in 2008 and 2010.

The Killers' first music video was Somebody Told Me. The video was made its' debut in March 2004. The band has released other successful videos such as Human, Mr Brightside and Read My Mind.
