Currently comprised of only 2 original band members, vocalist Brent Smith and drummer Barry Kerch, along with relative newcomer guitarist Zach Myers and bassist/pianist Eric Bass, Shinedown is a post grunge, alternative rock band that has released 3 hit albums and 13 chart topping singles since its 2001 birth as a band.

Shinedown began its rise to success with their 2003 debut album, Leave A Whisper which produced the successful singles "Fly From The Inside", "Burning Bright" and their hugely popular cover of the Lynryd Skynyrd classic "Simple Man". Shinedown topped the success of Leave A Whisper with the even more popular 2005 album, Us and Them, which earned the band their first number one single with the song, "Save Me". In 2007, Shinedown released the album The Sound Of Madness which included both their second number one hit, "Devour" and the biggest hit of their career, "Second Chance". In 2012, Shinedown will releae their 4th studio album titled Amaryllis.

Shinedown is a band that places great importance on playing in concert. Not only have they played a tour to promote the release of each one of their albums, but they have also been the opening act for hard rock masters like Godsmack and Rob Zombie. Shinedown has even made appearances in the wildly popular annual heavy metal music festival known as X-Fest in both 2005 and 2006.
