Seether

rock, alternative rock, hard rock I'm a fan

Formed in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2000, Seether is an alternative metal band that originally went by the name Saron Gas. Their debut album, 2000's Fragile, was released under the name Saron Gas but after receiving local success with Fragile they decided that they didn't want to be associated with the deadly poison sarin gas so the band formerly known as Saron Gas changed their name to Seether. Following the release of Fragile, Seether quickly followed up with 2002's Success and 2004's Disclaimer II before finding chart topping success with 2005's Karma and Effect which debuted at number 8 on the US Billboard 200 album charts. Not only did the album itself make its way up the Billboard charts, but it produced Seether's first number one single, "Remedy". In 2006, Seether released an acoustic CD/DVD set called One Cold Night, which was followed by 2007's Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces, before finally releasing their all time best selling album, 2010's Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray. Since the early times in their career when they used their live shows to obtain recognition as a band, Seether has been a band that truly comes alive in concert while on tour. Through the years Seether has played with bands like Papa Roach, 3 Doors Down, Three Days Grace, Finger Eleven and a variety of other alternative metal bands. Here is a music video for a live performance of Seether's song "The Gift" that was recorded during a California stop on the 2011 Uproar Festival tour. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ej-ZZTfsHXA
