Robert Plant is one of the most celebrated and popular rock musicians of all time. He is best known for his pioneering work with Jimmy Page, John Bonham and John Paul Jones is the legendary '70s rock n roll band Led Zeppelin. Plant has won numerous awards and distinctive nominations including the prestigious CBE ranking of the British Empire. Robert Plant was born in West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England in 1948. He is one of the co-founders of the iconic rock band Led Zeppelin, which was formed in 1966. Plant had released nine full-length studio albums with Led Zeppelin as well as nine full-length studio offerings as a solo performer. Plant has led a popular and critically acclaimed solo career after the break up of Led Zeppelin.
Plant continues to tour the world and release new music every year. Robert Plant is a member of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and is considered one of the greatest voices of rock n roll history. Robert Plant has cited many blues and soul artists as influences on his particular sound. In addition, Robert Plant is widely known for his spiritual and occult leanings as prime movers for his unique personality and lyrical writings. Most recently, Robert Plant was awarded the rare Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2009. Plant has also influenced a number of contemporary musicians such as Freddie Mercury, Axel Rose, Geddy Lee, Ann Wilson, Sammy Hagar, Jeff Buckley and Jack White.
