Lacuna Coil

gothic metal, metal, female vocalists I'm a fan

Since 1994, the band previously known as Sleep Of Right and Ethereal before finally metamorphosing into Lacuna Coil is a goth/alternative metal rock band that creates their own unique musical style that includes both a male and female singer and a gothic, melodic tempo that is unlike any sound created by other bands of this musical genre. Currently, Lacuna Coil is comprised of members Cristina Scabbia, Andrea Ferro, Cristiano Migliore, Marco Biazzi, Marco Coti Zelati, Cristiano Mozzati and together these 6 musicians have joined musical forces to create a band that has released 6 studio albums and 2 EPs. Before 2002 Lacuna Coil was wildly popular in Europe, but they were virtually unheard of in the U.S. but that all changed with the release of 2002's Comalies album. The first single off the album "Heaven's A Lie", became the song that finally gained Lacuna Coil the attention they deserved in North America and in 2005, Lacuna Coil won an Independent Music Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Song for this hit tune. Before gaining popularity in North America, Lacuna Coil played in concert all over Europe and along with the popularity of "Heaven's A Lie" came more opportunities to play live in the U.S. In 2004, along with playing a North American club tour, they also landed a spot on the highly popular Ozzfest. In 2006 Lacuna Coil once again played Ozzfest, only this time as a headliner which earned them the distinct honor of becoming the very first female fronted band to headline this heavy metal music festival. This is the 2006 music video for Lacuna Coil's remake of the Depeche Mode song "Enjoy the Silence".
