Beyonce Knowles is arguably one of the biggest artist's on the musical landscape today. She rose to fame in the mid-90s as a member of the girl-group Destiny's Child. Riding on the pop-music wave that hit in the late 90s, Destiny's Child released five albums, which combined sold more than 15-million copies in the United States.

In 2003, after Destiny's took a hiatus, Beyonce burst onto the pop-R&B scene as a solo artist. Her first album "Dangerous In Love" produced four top singles and netted her five Grammy Awards in 2004. In addition, her music video for "Crazy in Love" won two MTV VMA's, and she embarked on a sold out worldwide concert tour.

In the year's since, Beyonce has released three more Number One albums, "B'Day" (2006), "I Am... Sasha Fierce" (2008) and "4" (2011), and has become one of the biggest concert draws on the planet selling out stadium and festival dates around the world. Beyonce has also become one of the most recognized artist's in the world, at least in terms of awards and nominations. In total, Beyonce has won 16 Grammy Awards (she has received over 40 nominations), four American Music Awards and 11 MTV Video Music Awards. She is currently awaiting the birth of her first child with her husband, rap superstar, Jay-Z.
