Lorin Ashton aka Bassnectar is a dubstep producer and DJ out of Santa Cruz, California.

Bassnectar is an electronic musician who utilizes his dj skills to create an electronic, dub step style of music that is quite popular both in concert venues and dance clubs alike. Bassnectar originally found recognition for his artistry in the mid 1990's, but it wasn't until the release of his 2001 album Freakbeat for the Beatfreaks that Bassnectar started to become a more commonly known name in the electronic music movement. Bassnectar went on to release 8 more studio albums and 4 EP's which helped to give exposure to hits like "Float" and "Here We Go.

Throughout his career, Bassnectar has played in concert while on tour and he has even made appearance at popular music fests like Coachella Music & Arts Festival, Lollapalooza, and Camp Bisco. Bassnectar's entire spring tour of 2011 sold out instantly, which further proves his popularity is growing.
