Al Green is based out of Arkansas, United States, and was formed in 1946. Its members include Al Green & the Soul Mates, who come together to play soul, funk, rhythm and blues, 70s, rnb music.
Legendary soul singer Al Green achieved enormous success in the 1970's with hits like "I'm So Tired of Being Alone", "Let's Stay Together", "Love and Happiness" and "I'm Still in Love With You". After the tragic suicide of his then girlfriend in 1974, Al Green turned to religion and singing gospel music and became an ordained pastor of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in 1976. After many years of singing gospel music, Al Green returned to his R&B roots in the late 80's when he recorded a duet with Annie Lennox named "Put a Little Love in Your Heart". Al Green is a member of both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Gospel Music Association's Hall of Fame, and in 2002 he received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Over the years, Al Green has gone on tour to play both his gospel and mainstream hits in concert, and his musical collection of timeless classics are guaranteed to be loved for many years to come.
