ABBA

pop, disco, 70s I'm a fan

ABBA was a pop group formed in Sweden by two couples, Agnetha Faltskog & Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson & Anni-Frid Lyngstad. The bands name was an acronym of the names of the band members. Each member had minor success before the formation of ABBA, but the group had great success from 1972-1982. ABBA didn't go out to tour as much as many of their counterparts did. Because each of the member had done touring and concerts before the formation of ABBA, they felt the didn't need to be out there as much. Agnetha had two children during the ABBA years and she preferred to be close to her children. For these reasons their tours had fewer dates and were farther in between. They were happier to stay close to home. They did attend the festfolk festival numerous times. In large part because of the musical "Mamma Mia" ABBA's music is still very popular. They are a very fun and laid back group and still touring the world!
